During the 1990’s, Paul Forlenza gained recognition as a professional photographer in Washington, DC. He was selected for juried shows sponsored by the Washington Post, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, and the North American Invitational Show in Virginia.
The Capitol Hill Art League and Rockville Art Place sponsored solo shows of Paul's photographs. In VT, Paul was the featured artist at Art on Main in Bristol (Spring 2003 and 2004) and had a three month exhibition at the Bristol Bakery (Jan-March 2003). All photographs in the 2004 calendar published by the Lincoln Community Library were taken by Paul - they span 20 years of special moments in Lincoln. | | |
His photographs have been published in the Boston Globe, Vermont Life, Islands Magazine, New England Entertainment Digest, and Focus on Sports, including a cover photo for the latter. Paul is a member of the Vermont Professional Photographers, and the Commercial and Industrial Photographers of New England. In the summer of 2002, Paul decided to act on a long held dream. "I moved back to Vermont, built a house in Lincoln, and started offering my photographic services to clients in New England."
Paul has traveled extensively in Latin America -- Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil -- and Spain. He is fluent in Spanish. | | "What strikes me about Paul's photographs, besides their great composition, are their variety. His landscapes range from panoramas to carefully noted details, from bright sun-drenched color to extremely subtle tones to the dramatic play of strong shadows. He photographs people just as well, again capturing a full range of moods."
